The peculiarities of this car - a 1945 prototype - are certainly its undisputed beauty, its power given by a jet turbine engine of approximately 300 HP placed behind the drivers' seats (which made it almost undriveable due to overheating problems and the infernal noise) and its aerodynamics, whose CX index of 0.14 remained unbeaten until the 1980s!
Its dashboard had 14 gauges borrowed from an airplane.
Despite these technical drawbacks, Dante Giacosa gave us a masterpiece on wheels that gave a glimpse of the future to all enthusiasts of the time.

This model is intended for younger children, and rightly so, it comes with a nice driving license!

2. ITALA Pechino - Parigi

It all began on January 31, 1907, with a terse announcement in the French newspaper Le Matin: "What we must demonstrate today is that since man has the automobile, he can do anything and go anywhere. Is there anyone who would agree to travel from Peking to Paris by automobile next summer?"

Well, five crews, aboard five European vehicles, accepted the 16,000-kilometer challenge, relying solely on the power of their cars, which had to overcome natural hazards and obstacles of all kinds. The ITALA PECHINO PARIGI reached its destination in just 60 days, a full 20 days ahead of its opponents.

The "Peking-Paris" was also an event of a media magnitude hard to imagine at the time. Barzini (the journalist on board) sent dispatches to the Corriere della Sera and the Daily Telegraph from the most remote telegraph stations in the desert. Messages traveled along poles for thousands of kilometers, bouncing between Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Aden, Malta, Gibraltar, and London. They took up to eight or ten hours to reach the editorial office, but in time for the morning edition, where readers could enjoy the Itala's adventures in real time.

3. Monaco - Trossi

DEFIN! monaco tr colore 1 A4.jpg

A racing car of revolutionary design, built by engineer Augusto Monaco and Carlo Felice Trossi, who tested it during trials for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 1935. Its most interesting feature was its 16-cylinder, two-stroke engine with a double star arrangement, featuring a single combustion chamber for every two cylinders. It was front-mounted and air-cooled, like an airplane. Another unique feature for the time was its front-wheel drive, which avoided the need for a long propeller shaft.
